WINE AND DINE

Where to enjoy a glass of wine in Rome

Home  >  WINE AND DINE  >  Where to enjoy a glass of wine in Rome

Are you visiting Rome and want to go for a good glass of wine? You’ll be spoilt for choice! But it’s hard to find THE bar when you don’t know where to go. Here are three suggestions of wine bars in Rome that I have tested for you.

Enoteca Il Goccetto

This bar, located near the Tiber River, offers more than 60 wines by the glass, enough to make you discover all that Italy offers in terms of wine pleasure! You can also find more than 800 wine references, including old vintages, if you want to stock up or fill your suitcase before returning home! To accompany your glass of wine, you can order cold cuts, cheese or antipasti. A favorite! To have a glass or two and have a bite to eat.

Vineria Litro

Litro is a small bistro-café located in the Monteverde vecchio area, not far from the trendy Trastevere district. Litro specializes in serving natural and biodynamic wines. It serves very simple food, including snacks and sandwiches. The freshness of the products is impeccable. A special mention for their succulent swordfish carpaccio salad. A real treat! For those who like natural wine or to enjoy their terrace with its warm atmosphere. Excellent cocktails too!

Uve e Forme

More of a bistro enoteca than a wine bar, it is located between the Bologna and Policlinico metros. It offers traditional Roman cuisine with a twist, featuring organically grown products. The restaurant offers more than 300 references in its wine list. It also organizes regular wine tastings. The portions are generous, as is the welcome, and the food I tasted was very good. The only drawback is the rather limited choice of wines by the glass.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to go there, but I’ve heard good things about several other places in the capital. The subject of a future article?

Enoteca Bulzoni, Viale dei Parioli, 36
La Barrique, Via del Boschetto, 41
Remigio, Via Santa Maria Ausiliatrice, 15
Bar Necci, Via Fanfulla da Lodi, 68
